  Hello,

We don't have bass in our lakes so you should try cathing some pike but I must say it won't be easy - the population of predators in Masurian lakes is very small...
Most of Polish anglers who really want to catch a pike prefer to visit Sweden...
But you can always try. The biggest population of pike is in the Śniardwy lake. Becouse of the water condition in past few years (now it is better) in some lakest there is more zanders than pikes but I think that they prefer deeper areas so cathing them on fly can be hard.
I think that the best places for cathing a pike, not maby big but sure and easly achievable by flyrod will be the small rivers entering the lakes. Specially Krutynia river is well known for its beauty and the big population of pikes up to 5 kg, which in its clear waters shouldn't miss a fly.
Thre are some trout rivers in North-Eastern Poland but most of them not exactly in the Masury region but in the west - in Warmia, and in the East - in Suwalszczyzna. It is about 50-100 km east or west from Mikołajki...
But as Stanisław said the trout season ends in Polsnd on 31st of August, and the population of graylings in those rivers is really small.
